Encaustic artists like New Jersey painter Michael Giannella use beeswax, damar resin and pigment instead of oils or watercolors to create abstract flower paintings and abstract landscape paintings that seem to float off the surface. Michael also uses mix media in some of his artwork

Along with Encuastic painting, Michael has worked in Ceramic Art making functional pottery. Handmade mugs, plates and bowls made to be used and enjoyed. Michael plans to start blending his Encusatic and Ceramic work and start making ceramics with encuastic surfaces. He enjoys his creative process and expressing himself in his work.
